A fan located inside the building distributes the warmed or cooled air throughout the interior.  An open loop system can be installed where an adequate supply of suitable water is available and open discharge is feasible.  During summer cooling, the heat from inside the building is returned to the earth with the same high efficiency.  Special financing may also be available through the local utility or through the producer of the system.  A gas­fired heat pump can deliver air outlet temperatures that are 10 to 15°F warmer than electric air­to­air heat pumps and will operate more efficiently at lower outdoor temperatures.
