Yesterday came word that PBS was relegating Mr. Rogers to a single weekend slot. This is no way to treat a good man in a cardigan. As a child, Mr. Rogers was among my favorite programs. I don’t remember why exactly, but it just seemed to work. As Strollerderby writes:

What Mister Rogers cared about most was healthy child development and giving kids the tools to look with hope and confidence upon a world that often inspires neither.

It is impossible to imagine children’s educational television without Mr. Rogers and hopefully we won’t have to - an online petition (SaveMrRogers.com) has been set-up and I encourage everyone to sign.
