Celebrating 1 Month - New Features, New Users

adamkatz on July 16, 2008

It has been just over 1 month since we launched the public beta of TotSpot. Since then, nearly 8,500 pages have been created, about 50,000 photos uploaded, 15,000 firsts and favorites, and more. We’re really happy and it seems like you are too

Just as importantly, we’ve been delighted by all the feedback we’ve received (both directly and through the new help system at Get Satisfaction). Your comments and ideas (international support, photo tools) have powered our development process since launch and will continue to do so as we move forward.

In addition to patting ourselves (and you) on the back, we thought we’d use this moment to announce a slew of really important new features: Public Pages, a Theme Editor, and Photo Organizing tools.

1. Public Pages - Now you can set your child’s TotSpot page to be public at http://www.totspot.com/public/username (and soon at - http://username.totspot.com).

This setting allows friends and family to see your child’s page without registering for TotSpot. To ensure security, you can add an optional password.

2. Make Your Own Theme - As we’ve said in the past, we view TotSpot as a vehicle for personal expression. We want each TotSpot page to reflect the uniqueness of the child’s personality. To that end, you can now make your own theme which means that the look and feel of your entire TotSpot experience is up to you.

To make your own theme, click on the My Profile Tab, select My Theme and Picture, and choose “My Theme.”

3. Organizing, Re-ordering, and Rotating Photos - We know photos are a big deal but our initial approach to photo organization was non-existant. That’s changed now. We’ve built a pretty slick photo organizer that enables you to easily move photos between photosets, reorganize your photos within each set, and rotate individual photos.

As always, we love hearing from you!

This is definitely a good improvement. I just love it. The problem I am facing though is that I have this default Unsorted Photos Photoset which is empty and I am not able to delete it. I just transferred all the pics from that photoset to a new photoset which even has the option of deleting.

Thanks for pointing that out Sonali! We’re going to look into it :)

Something to say?
